Our Maintenance Technician I contributes to the success of UltiMed to manufacture and distribute premium quality injection devices and related medical products with a focus on serving people and pets with diabetes. This position is part of a team primarily responsible for the overall mechanical and electrical needs of the manufacturing facility and equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under supervision of the Plant Engineering Manager, perform the overall maintenance and repair tasks as required to support the manufacturing and facility operation activities:

  • Perform PM tasks for all plant and manufacturing equipment and ensure all PMs are completed and documented successfully and on time.
  • Examples of manufacturing and plant equipment include but are not limited to:
    • Product-specific manufacturing equipment and or packaging equipment
    • Robots/automated equipment.
    • Label applicators
    • In-line bar code and text printers and scanners/verifiers
    • Sterilization chambers
    • Air compressors
    • HEPA air filtration system
    • HVAC units
  • Support the overall Safety Policies and Procedures in all departments:
    • Have a constant mindset to identify and remedy any situation where there is a potential threat to employees’ physical safety either through an environmental condition in the plant or on the plant grounds or through manufacturing or plant equipment that poses a risk of bodily harm.
  • Support overall product quality within the manufacturing of UltiMed products:
    • Understand the theory of operation of all manufacturing equipment along with the settings and adjustments of the machinery and how they impact manufacturing specifications.
    • Ensure appropriate protocol for working within the cleanroom.
    • Understand and help troubleshoot production software issues, including PLC programming.
    • Assist with new equipment design and installation.
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school graduate/GED and successful completion of a technical apprenticeship
  • 2-year technical degree a strongly preferred
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • 4+ years or more manufacturing experience
  • Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills with some PLC experience  
  • Good computer skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ethical conduct
  • Strong organizational skills to manage workload efficiently

Physical Job Requirements:                                                                                                              

Working conditions in the role of the Maintenance Technician I may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, live electric equipment, and non-hazardous chemical agents in a temperature-controlled environment.

  • Must have the ability to see, hear and navigate safely in a production environment with mechanized equipment.
  • Must have manual dexterity to manipulate tools and related equipment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile.
  • The employee is required to interact with a computer, and communicate with peers and co-workers.
  • Lift and/or move up to 60 pounds occasionally.
  • Use of safety equipment and procedures as dictated by the work (safety glasses, lock out/tag out procedures, safety shoes, face shields, hearing protection, gloves, etc.)
